Breast Augmentation Procedure by Dr. Eric Weiss
Dr. Weiss begins your initial consultation by reviewing before and after photos of other breast augmentation patients, and will help you select the level of correction for you to achieve your desired look. All applicable costs will also be reviewed during this confidential appointment.
Breast augmentation procedures begin with an incision in either the lower part of the breast, below the areola or in the armpit. The saline-filled implant is inserted underneath the breast tissue or chest muscle and is adjusted to the appropriate size and proportion before closing the incision. Performed under general anesthesia, the entire procedure takes approximately one hour to complete. Oftentimes, a breast augmentation is coupled with a breast lift, providing patients with optimum results from their procedure.
Recovery time can vary based on the placement of the implants and the amount of breast tissue, but generally, most patients experience only moderate soreness for several days following the augmentation.
