Breast Reduction Procedure by Dr. Eric Weiss
Dr. Weiss begins your initial consultation by reviewing before and after photos of other breast reduction patients, and will help you select the level of correction for you to achieve your desired look. All applicable costs will also be reviewed during this confidential appointment.
Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, will remove excess fat, glandular tissue and skin to optimize your breast size. The procedure is performed with an areolar incision—through which the fat, tissue and skin are removed to form a new, firmer breast and will last approximately three hours.
Recovery time from breast reduction surgery ranges from two to four weeks off work; common side effects include swelling, temporary bruising and discomfort—all of which will recede as the breasts heal. Patients must also abstain from lifting anything over ten pounds during the post-operative recovery period.
