Tummy Tuck (or Abdominoplasty)
Shape and trim your abs with a Tummy Tuck
Inevitably, the stomach is the first place that extra weight and fat settle on the body. Years of weight losses and gains, pregnancy and even genetic factors can impact the abdominal physique. A Tummy Tuck removes the excess fat and skin and creates a defined midsection that is smoother and firmer than ever before.
Dr. Weiss begins your initial consultation by reviewing before-and-after photos of other Abdominoplasty patients, and will help you select the level of correction for you to achieve your desired look. All applicable costs will also be reviewed during this confidential appointment.
The Tummy Tuck procedure is done on an outpatient basis at the Northeast Florida Plastic Surgery Center in Jacksonville, FL. An incision is made that spans the hips and surgeons then tighten the abdominal muscles, narrow the waistline and remove excess skin. A Tummy Tuck can range between two-to-five hours in length under general anesthesia.
Discomfort rapidly decreases several days following the procedure. Patients can expect to be off of work for two weeks and experience swelling and bruising during the post-operative period. The results of a Tummy Tuck are long lasting, but are optimized by maintaining a healthy lifestyle that includes diet and exercise.
