Labiaplasty is a procedure that is growing in popularity. Social norms over the last decades have gone to less and less pubic hair. And women have become more conscious about the external look of their vagina, especially the inner lips or the labia minora. Most women consider the ideal vaginal contour as one where the inner lips or labia minora do not protrude past the outer lips. In addition to the cosmetic appearance many women find that when they wear tight jeans, bathing suits, go for bicycle rides, engaging in other athletic or sexual activities those delicate structures get pinched or twisted, causing pain. Eighty percent of women that have labia minora that protrude past the labia majora have symptoms. Labiaplasty is a nice, delicate procedure that could be done under local anesthesia. It takes about an hour. When I do it, I put a numbing cream on the external vagina. It usually takes  about five or ten minutes to be completely numb. The way I do the procedure also preserves the outer edge of the labia minora where the sensation is, this is where the nerves are. It also decreases the risk of any type breakdown or wound issues, and scar is almost invisible nobody will know that you’ve ever been operated on.
